The North Kingstown High School Robotics Program has been taking part in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition since 2007. In that time, our program has grown exponentially, expanding from one team of five members to over 60 members spread over four teams. Our teams are award-winning groups of students who are highly acclaimed for their engineering notebooks, robot performance and design, team spirit, community outreach and leadership skills, and our own Team 701, The GONK Squad, is most notably known as the Inspire Award winner at the 2019 Vermont FTC Championship, Winning Alliance Captain at the 2020 Rhode Island State Championship, Inspire Award Winner at the 2024 Rhode Island State Championship, Winning Alliance Captain at the 2025 Rhode Island State Championship, and Inspire Award Winner at the 2026 Rhode Island State Championship, qualifying them for the 2019, 2020, 2024, 2025 and 2026 FIRST Championships.
